Default new nest

Found.a nest and dont known the owners it was the shape of a coconut only a bit bigger with a small hole in it .Could any one tell me what kind of bird this is it was flying about and so was long tail tits making a crackling sound when i was near the nest .Would be most greatfull for your help

Hi, tamurman! Since replying re your mystery bird on the other thread, I have read in my bird book that nightingales are restricted to southern England, and as you mentioned the Clyde elsewhere, I'm kind of assuming you might be in Scotland. Sounds as if a rethink is in order.

If it is a flycatcher it must be a spotted flycatcher (not a pied one which is black and white). You can check this out on this website by going to the Home page and clicking on Factfiles, or else try the RSPB on http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/bird...her/index.aspx. I personally think it may not be, as the flycatcher has distinctive streaks on its pale breast and head. The RSPB used to show a short bit of live video of each bird at one time, but seem to have done away with that.

hi jandy it is a willow wobblier i went rspb forum and that is what they say thanks for your most welcome help go to the tea rooms on rspb and u will see comments thanks again tommy
